Equipment
1- 10yr old tv with only one cable slot in the back for the cable wire from the wall.
2- RF Modulator with two cable slots and the red, white, and yellow audio/visual slots.
3- DVD player with: two white slots, two red slots, one yellow slot, and one coaxial slot which uses the same type of wire.
4- Fairly new stereo with: red and white surround slots and red and white aux slots.
I used to have a vcr and hooked my stereo up to that and it worked. I don’t have the vcr anymore. I hooked up the wires from my stereo to my dvd player and rf modulator every which way I could, but no sound. All I could hear was a buzzing sound. I want to watch tv without waking up everybody. I want to use my head phones through my stereo.
Can anyone help.
Plug in red and white to red and white from the red,white and yellow chord from your speakers to your tv. Make sure you are plugging into AUDIO OUT on the TV and AUDIO IN on your SPEAKERS.
Yellow – Video

I have a sony stereo with bookshelf speakers the ones with wires, is there a device or something I can use which allows me to plug these speakers to my laptop? A connector or something?
Those speakers need an amplifier. If your Sony stereo has an "aux input", you can plug your laptop into that and play it through the stereo. Those speakers cannot be connected directly to the laptop.

I wanted to know where to get the cheapest possible stereo controller (powerfull enough to drive 3 loudspeakers ) for 50 big ones.
What is a controller?
Do you mean a stereo head unit / receiver? Or stereo amplifier?
And why 3 speakers? Usually car stereos will have 4 outputs for 4 speakers.

I just installed a new stereo system in my car. It consists of two Amps, and a capacitor. I just finished wiring everything up to the car battery, then when I switched on my car battery for the first time in order to charge my capacitor. The in-line fuse connected to the wire that is directly on the battery peg instantly blew. Is this bad? Does this mean I need a higher ampage fuse?
double check your wiring to make sure you don’t have a ground or a short in the line. if you don’t, up the fuse. as long as you don’t exceed the rated current of your amps, you’ll be fine.

I want to get a set of wireless headphones that I can hook up to my PC and stereo that would have a range so that I can listen while I am housecleaning or working in the yard. Also the home PC is downstairs and I really can’t listen to the stuff when I am upstairs. Budget $100-200. Really can’t afford a Bose system. Any suggestions?
any sony wireless headphones that are a little over $200 are great. i own the Sony MDR-DS4000 Infrared Cordless Digital Surround Headphone System but you can get this:Sony MDR-DS3000 Infrared Wireless Digital Surround Headphones. its not NEARLY as good but its still a good pair of earphones. my friend has those and lets me try them. (but bose beats all)
