GBC Sand Shark II Paddle Tire – Product Review

June 202010

This is a product review of the most basic, low-cost and great buy for your money paddles I’ve tested. They work great in all dune conditions and anywhere from drag racing to side hilling they are very effective. I’ve only had one problem with the rims related to engine malfunctions on my moms 400ex but thats it. These are the low cost version of the AMS Sidewinders.

Let me know your questions/comments in a comment and I will be happy to read them.

Thanks

    @raptarida Depends …
@raptarida Depends on how deep the snow is I would think it has to be atleast a foot deep to use them safely but I would look at traction tires made for the snow or mud.

Yeah douglas makes some nice ones and some cheap ones but these are the cheap ones.

    those sand padles …
those sand padles look pretty much like the ITP sand star i have except the sand stars have another lil paddles on the side too and the rims i forgot wat they were lol but they were petty cheap and machined finished and i have them on my 05 trx450r and ive abused the heck out of that bike and let me say thats one badass bike still runs like new no problems and oh i got over the machined finish so i panted them black lol and they look pretty sweet on my my black bike XD

    Those DOUGLAS …
Those DOUGLAS wheels you keep bashing would have lasted just fine if you would have run washers on them when you flipped your factory lug nuts around. I have to do it on ITP’s C-Series and I’m not going to run it without the washers to prove I need them, call it common sense. Also, I have seen Douglas Blue Labels bent back into shape with a kick from a riding boot, they are very soft.

    On the Douglas, I …
On the Douglas, I found after those ones became useless that they could be bent with a soft strike from a hammer.

    On the Douglas …
On the Douglas wheels or ITP? The only other problem I had with the ITPs was I broke a chunk of the aluminum off the lip of the wheels, but ITP replaced it for free. The Douglas wheels do bend on the lips if you are running low pressure (which you need to do if you want to get any traction with the Sand Sharks. Also try dropping 1 tooth on the front sprocket if you are doing a lot of hill climbs. That’s the cheapest mod you can do to get a little more speed up the mountain.

  12. BWRProductions Says:

    Yeah some people …
Yeah some people trust these rims a lot but I here a lot about the fact that the aluminum is weak.

  13. BWRProductions Says:

    Trust me they were …
Trust me they were PLENTY tight. But I’m serious the bike was ripping everything on it apart during that trip only after we used the 91.

  14. foxrider870 Says:

The only time I had …
The only time I had a problem with that it was because I was running the moose bullet lugs which are shit. That was on ITP C-series wheels 2.

  15. foxrider870 Says:

    First of all the …
First of all the Sand Shark paddles suck. I ran them on a Raptor 700, and a YFZ 450. If you don’t do a lot of dune riding then yeah they are ok, but if I had to buy another cheap set I would go with the Geckos. If you do a lot of dune riding you are better off choking up the money and buying Skat Traks. Also you must be a idiot to think that engine problems would make the holes oval out like that. Try your lugs weren’t tight enough.
