ok so if i have a …
ok so if i have a 600 watt rms @ 2ohm amp that i want to wire it to a dual voice coil subwoofer with rms 600 how to do i wire the subwoofer to run at 2 ohms? i can get the sub in 2 ohm or 4 ohm versions but need it to run a 2 ohms to match th amp, also how would i wire this?

@DirtyHippie925 Running an amplifier at a lower impedance than it’s rated for will cause internal damage. You’re not going to fry the amp immediately but chances are it’s going to quickly heat up and go into protection mode. If this happens too much the amp will burn itself out. Find an amp that’s stable at the impedance you’re going to give it.

like will my amp completely fry if i wire my speakers in parallel down to 2 ohms and bridge them? it says its bridgable at 4 ohms but will bridging it at 2 ohms hurt?

@MrSkidoomxz I’m pretty sure you’re an idiot since you’re not even able to write a coherent sentence. However, since you made an ignorant comment I’ll response to it with logic. First of all it’s spelled “wrapped”. I”m not sure anyone has “raped” speaker wire before and I’m not even sure how they would go about doing it. With that said, thicker wire is a much better option. In fact, 0000gauge wire would be the best since it would have the lowest resistance.

If you have two subs with dual voice coils or 4 subs with single voice coils you can wire them together in series AND parallel to get the same impedance that you started with.

I wasn’t aware that you needed a college degree to show someone how to wire a subwoofer. That said, how you noticed the hugely positive response my videos about car audio have gotten? Maybe it’s because people enjoyed them and learned something. Rather than blaming the teacher perhaps you could consider the possibility that you’re just thick headed.
